THE EARLY DAYS
JWD is a family run firm and has been based in Eastbourne, East Sussex for over fifty years offering a large modern fleet of vehicles for home and business removals and commercial road haulage. It is owned and operated by John Dobbs and his son David.
The company was originally established to service the general haulage sector but under the guidance of its current owner it was decided to specialise in local home and commercial removals.
JWD joined the Eastbourne Chamber of Commerce over 20 years ago to support the local community. |
TODAY
David Dobbs (John's son) joined the family firm in the summer of 2013 following a successful career in the logistics industry with such notable companies as Pallet Track Ltd. David's remit is to move JWD forward looking at business opportunities and forming partnerships in the UK and around the world.
In 2014 JWD successfully obtained FORS (Freight Operator Recognition Scheme) accreditation. The requirements to achieve and maintain this industry standard is to operate a fully compliant operation and equally to implement the high standards of Health and Safety that are required. |
THE FUTURE
Looking into the future JWD has recently acquired an additional 10,000 sq ft storage facility as a new European distribution hub. This facility is being utilised by business importing merchandise via China, Australia and Europe.
So, now with over 50 years of service in the local Eastbourne area, East Sussex the UK and Europe we have a reputation to keep and grow. |
